Adé Jackson, otherwise known as BlackScholar, is a poet on the roam from Sacramento, California. He currently is in his third year of law school at UCLA and will be graduating with a specialization in Critical Race studies. He calls his music Empowerment Hip-Hop for its gritty realism, poetic roots, and critical messages. We are thrilled to have him perform some of his work from his project entitled “2L: The Locked Jedi X-Files,” which he wrote based on his reflections after working with youth incarcerated at BJ Nidorf in Sylmar, California.
